Fear Is A Terrible Thing

Have you ever had a vision? A revelation about where your life is to go? What you are to do? Did it seem too great to be true? Too great to be real or achieved? Did it seem unattainable?

Well, I have. I tried to rap my mind around my great vision. I could not! Thoughts chained me in place. I was bolted down by my fears. My will was sucked out of me, by "what ifs." My energy, sapped by worry. Choices evaporated, by doubt. I was totally immobile.

Have you ever experienced this? Does this place sound familiar? Helpless to move forward. Desiring to turn back to the safety of all that you knew. Longing for the familiar place. Inside you know that there is something more for you to achieve, to do , to discover, to teach, to learn. But your mind stress, objects, rebells, argues until one day you either give in or move forward in spite of.

Yes, fear calls to you. Doubts engulf you. Worries pursue you. Lack of confidence parayzes you. But choice beckons you. Decide. Choose. And you do.

At least that is how it was for me. I chose to go forward in spite of. Have you ever done something in spite of? In spite of what others think. In spite of being terrified. In spite of not knowing what lay ahead. In spite of!

Options appeared like the breaking of the sun. Energy burst for like rays of light. Desire to achieve sprang like a babbling brook. The bolts that once held me disappeared. The shackles fell from off my hands. I was free.

Timidly I took a step toward my path. I began to leap toward my purpose. Then I started to gallop toward my destiny. Silenced were fear, doubt and worry. Their music drowned out by faith, trust and belief.

My vision appeared before me. Beckoning me to advance. My purpose stretched out its hand. My steps became more determined. I pressed on. Marching I advanced. I could see my destiny just ahead. Almost there I thought. Almost home.

Are you on the road toward your vision? Your purpose? Your destiny? If not don't let another day go by. Devise a plan. Take one step at a time. Venture out daily. Before you know it you will be on your way. On the path. Advancing to your destiny.

Are you ready?
